ABOUT ME

just the gist + some extra

everything you need to know in full detail

Anchor 1
Overview
I was born and raised in Prattville, Alabama, a town about 20 minutes from the capital of my state. I went to the local public schools in Prattville, which is where I found my love for learning. Before I left elementary school I knew I wanted to be a teacher and it hasn't changed since. Some of my favorite things include Auburn football, the beaches of the gulf coast, the sound of a record player, and cooking. I also enjoy gardening, and summertime is the best time!
Education
I attended high school at Prattville High School in Prattville, Alabama. While in school, I enjoyed being involved in clubs and working at the local schools for experience with children. I graduated in May of 2016.
After graduation, I started towards my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in the fall of 2016 at Auburn University. I am currently in my junior year at Auburn University with a projected graduation date of May 2020.
Please see my resume for more information on my education.
Experience
When I entered high school I was able to pick up babysitting jobs here and there after school and on the weekends which helped me to gain a good amount of experience working with children and contacts with parents.

I started working at the YMCA of Prattville my sophomore year of high school as a camp counselor over the summer and during the school year in after school care. I went on to become a Group Leader and Assistant Site Director until the summer of 2017. Through this experience, not only was I able to gain a lot of experience with kids, but I was able to gain experience in dealing with parents, leadership, and management. It was a very rewarding experience for me.
When I entered college at Auburn, I began working as a part-time nanny. Freshman year I worked with a five and seven year old. August 2017 I started work with a new family with a three and seven year old, and i'm still with them today. Both have been huge learning experiences for me and I have gained so much joy through them.
Please see my resume for more information on my experience, including clubs, organizations, activities, and the specific skills learned through them.
Future Plans
In the near future, after I graduate from Auburn in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, I hope to go straight to graduate school. In graduate school, I will work towards my Masters of Education in Elementary Education (M.Ed.).
As for the more distant future, after I have entered the classroom and have gained a good amount of experience, I would like to go back to school and get a Masters of Education for Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education (M.Ed.). After acquiring this, I hope to work in administration of schools, specifically elementary schools.
I have dreams of getting my Ph.D. and possibly working in Education Research, but those plans are not in the works quite yet.
